Bill Goff Nomar Mr. Nice Guy
Price: $400
" In 1997, with
the days of Speaker, Williams,
Yaz, and Rice long past, and Clemens
starting in Toronto, Boston was
looking for a new hero. Little
did the Red Sox faithful know
that the player to lead them into
the next century was a rookie
shortstop from Whittier, California
named Nomar Garciaparra. That
season, enroute to winning Rookie
of the Year honors, the slick
fielding Garciaparra showed that
he had more than just another
good glove by leading the league
with 209 hits while hitting .306.
In 1998, Nomar shrugged off the
idea of a sophomore jinx with
a .323 average that included 35
homers and 122 RBIs. In this scene,
taken from a game against the
Orioles late in 1998, Nomar is
shown ranging to his left about
to steal a hit from future Hall
of Famer Cal Ripken. The 1999
All-Star game logo on the Green
Monster looms over him as a prescient
forecast of Garciaparra¨s first
start in the Mid-simmer classic.
With the days of the no-hit shortstop
passing, Nomar, a beloved figure
in Boston, seems to be on a path
to greatness. Size: 21 5/8" x
29 5/8" "

Bill Goff Fenway Park 1987
Price: $1200
" It's July 19,
1987, a stunning Sunday in Boston,
the Athletics vs. the Red Sox,
and Curt Young is pitching to
Wade Boggs. The view from the
lower deck seats, just to the
first base side of the plate,
puts the Green Monster in your
lap. The Lite and Citgo signs
loom large just beyond. Your panoramic
view begins at the third base
dugout and extends all the way
to the edge of the covered stands
in right. The Bosox' lineup is
clearly visible on the scoreboard
above the packed bleachers. Note:
The "Fenway Park Triptych" original
is a three-panel painting ("triptych"),
the combined size measuring 60
by 182 inches. Size: 14" x 36""

Bill Goff Fenway Park 1989
Price: $400
"It's Memorial
Day weekend, 1989, and the Angels
and Red Sox are mixing it up under
puffy clouds in Beantown. You're
seated in the lower deck, halfway
between third base and home plate.
The Green Monster looms to the
left, and the Prudential Building
scrapes the skyline beyond the
Jimmy Fund billboard on the right
field roof. The stands are packed,
all the way up the first base
line to the bleachers in center.
Size: 14" x 36" "

Bill Goff Fenway Park 1991
Price: $300
" It's mid-summer,
1991, and you're at packed Fenway
Park in Boston for a fantasy game
between the Yankees and the beloved
Red Sox. From your lofty perch
directly behind home plate you're
watching first-inning action as
Wade Boggs battles a Yankee righthander
under a beautifully blue Beantown
sky. Your fully-panoramic view
sweeps from the auxiliary scoreboard
atop the left field roof, past
the legendary Green Monster and
Citgo sign to the high-rise office
buildings beyond the right field
stands. Size: 18" x 33""

Bill Goff Fenway Park 1946
Price: $300
"It's July 14,
1946, in Boston, and the Indians
are in the Boudreau Shift for
Red Sox slugger Ted Williams.
From your elevated perch slightly
to the third base side of home
plate you're watching as the Splendid
Splinter awaits a pitch from Cleveland's
Red Embree. And just look at the
defensive alignment! In the infield,
that's player/manager Boudreau,
the shortstop, lined up on the
right side between first baseman
Jimmy Wasdell and third baseman
Ken Keltner, who's playing just
to the right of second base. Second
baseman Jack Conway is out in
right field near the foul line,
with center fielder Jim Seerey
lined up in deep right-center,
and right fielder Hank Edwards
in deep right. Left fielder George
Case looks lonely positioned behind
short. Red Embree is the pitcher,
rookie Sherm Lollar is the catcher
and Bobby Doerr is on deck for
the Bosox. For the record, Williams
went 1-for-2 in the game with
a double, two walks and two runs
scored. Yes, it's true, only three
umpires worked the game. And how
about the billboards on the Green
Monster in left! Size: 21 5/8"
x 29 5/8""

Bill Goff Fenway Park 1987
Price: $500
"It's July 17,
1987, and the twilight sky in
Beantown is just spectacular!
It's the Athletics vs. the Red
Sox, the lights are on, and that's
Dave Stewart pitching to Spike
Owen. You're drinking in a panoramic
view from a seat deep in the lower
deck, looking up the first base
line. The Prudential Building
glows in the distance, and the
Citgo sign is clearly visible
beyond the Green Monster in left.
Yes, your view is interrupted
by a pillar -- but that's Fenway!
Note: The "Fenway Park Diptych"
original is a two-panel painting
("diptych"), each panel measuring
40 by 60 inches. Size: 14" x 36""

Bill Goff Above Fenway Park
Price: $140
" The Red Sox have
been playing baseball at the intersection
of Lansdowne and Jersey streets
in Boston since April 20, 1912.
Why ''Fenway Park?'' Because the
facility was built in a marshy
area of the city known as ''The
Fens.'' The ballpark, of course,
is best known for the ''Green
Monster'' in left field, a 37-foot
high wall topped by a screen designed
to protect windows from baseballs
on Lansdowne Street. But the charm
doesn¨t end there. The right field
foul pole is known as Pesky¨s
Pole because Johnny Pesky hit
it numerous times for home runs.
And the bullpen area in right-center
field is known as Williamsburg,
so named because it was constructed
in 1940 to help Ted Williams hit
home runs. It¨s the mid-'50s here,
and Williams is still tearing
it up. Size: 21 5/8" x 29 5/8"
